Computing and STEM

We provide interesting and exciting opportunities for all students to improve their knowledge and skills in Computing and IT. We want our students to understand how and where computers are used at home, in the workplace and in society. Our students need to understand how computer technology works so that they can use it to its full potential, putting their skills to good use when solving everyday problems and working creatively.

    KS3 Curriculum

    The Key Stage 3 curriculum aims to provide all students with the core skills that they need to use for study, work and living in the digital age. Students learn to research information effectively using the Internet. They create, structure and present written and numeric information effectively. They learn to use hardware devices, software packages and utilities to make the most of their creativity, to solve problems that they encounter in their studies and that they will find useful in their working life. Students gain an insight into how technology affects their lives and the world that they live in, including e-safety and cyber-security. They also learn to solve problems using algorithms and to write programs to control computers in a variety of situations.
