Year 11 Prom 2018

Our glamorous Year 11s took to the red carpet in their gowns and dinner jackets on Friday (29 June) for their Prom Night.

Each year, Year 11 students dress up to the nines for their Prom Night, a chance to celebrate the end of high school with their friends and teachers. It’s the highlight of the school event calendar, and allows students to let their hair down after a busy month of exams.

All eyes are on the students as they arrive, with families, students in the lower years and members of the local community all coming out to watch the line up of sports cars, limos and classic buses delivering the students to the red carpet.

The Prom was held at the Best Western Tiverton Hotel, and students were treated to arrival drinks before heading into the main event. The annual crowning of the Prom King and Queen officially starts the evenings festivities, which sees students dance the night away.

Tiverton High School Headteacher, Sammy Crook, said: “This year we have had another brilliant Prom Night, and it’s been truly enjoyable seeing the Year 11s dress up in their outfits and having some fun. Prom follows months of hard work put in by the students, and this is a great way of allowing them to let off some steam and enjoy spending time with their friends.

“The prom is always a fun-filled evening for all, and staff work tirelessly to ensure that everyone has a great time. From planning the event to photographing on the night, members of staff and the local community all get involved, and we are incredibly grateful for all of their hard work.”

The next big event in the Year 11s school calendar will be their GCSE results day, taking place in August.
