A great week of rugby

It was a busy week of rugby fixtures last week. Mr Morell has provided a report for the week:

It’s been a fantastic week of rugby for our Year 7 and 8 boys’ teams, with plenty of action and exciting performances.

On Tuesday evening, our year 7s travelled to Uffculme for a challenging match. They played an exciting game of end-to-end rugby and showed great determination, eventually emerging victorious. It was an excellent display of team spirit and skill.

The year 8s also had a tough match against Uffculme, starting strongly with some fantastic rugby and taking a well-deserved early lead. However, Uffculme’s dominance at the breakdown and their powerful pack eventually proved too much, and they ran out comfortable winners. Despite the result, the year 8s showed promising signs of improvement.

The following evening saw a mixed year 7 and 8 team take on Cullompton, just down the road. This game was a highlight of the week, with the boys showing massive improvements at the breakdown. This allowed them to maintain continuity in attack, giving players like Jack N, Joe C, and Harry W the platform to showcase their attacking flair. The team delivered a thoroughly deserved victory, and this sets them up nicely for their trip to Clyst Vale next week.

The boys should be proud of their efforts this week, with each game providing valuable learning experiences. We look forward to the challenge ahead and wish them all the best as they head into next week’s fixture.

Keep up the great work, Gents!
