Exams
It is the aim of Tiverton High School to make the exam process as stress-free and successful for all students as possible.
Tiverton High School follows the official Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations to ensure that all exams are conducted safely, fairly and consistently. These rules apply to every candidate sitting external examinations.

The following Key Stage 4 courses are available at Tiverton High School:
Compulsory Subjects:
- English Language (WJEC/Eduqas – GCSE)
- English Literature (WJEC/Eduqas – GCSE)
- Mathematics (Pearson Edexcel – GCSE)
- Combined Science (AQA – equivalent to two GCSEs)
All students also study Physical Education
In addition to the Compulsory Subjects, students also study up to four further ‘option’ subjects. (Note – if they choose Separate Sciences this counts as one of their choices).

Year 11 Mock Exams
From 3 Nov – 14 November inclusive
Mock Results Day Assembly on 4 December at 8:30am
Mocks 2: 24 Feb – 6 March 2026
Mock Results Day Assembly on 23 March at 8:30am
Annual Exams
These will be conducted in a formal exam room setting will take place between the dates below:
Year 7 – 20 – 24 April 2025
Year 8 – 27 & 30 April
Year 9 (core subjects only) – 5 & 6 April
Year 10 (all subjects) – 17 – 23 June
Results from the annual exams will be in students’ end of year report.
Exam assessments will mostly be taken in students’ classrooms (mainly years 7, 8 and 9) and are scheduled a their teachers’ discretion.
Summer 2026 GCSE exam dates are:
From 7 May to 16 June 2026 inclusive. Contingency day is 24 June 2026.
Results will be available to students on Thursday 20 August 2026 from 9.15am in the Assembly Hall.
