Refectory menus

Catering at THS

At Tiverton High School we strive to provide healthy and affordable menu choices alongside our partners Educatering , a part of Goosemoor Foodservice Ltd.

Our menu includes a range of affordable hot food options including “half” pots of pasta for those preferring a smaller portion. Alongside these we are also including “Grab & Go” items as well as a “Fruit Bar” as a part of our “Wellbeing Salad Bar”.

The menu is based on a weekly rotation over a three-week period and is updated termly. All our staff are trained in Allergy Awareness and are able to advise students and parents of ingredients used. The menu is designed to meet healthy eating standards and uses many locally produced ingredients freshly cooked daily.

Both refectories offer the same menu choices and in addition the food outlet in the Quad is open at morning break.

Before the start of school, the main refectory is open to students for a free slice of toast. Students may also purchase a small selection of other breakfast items and drinks.

On this page you will find information regarding eligibility and how to apply.

At Tiverton High School we match our daily daily allowance to the level of funding provided by the DfE. This is sufficient to buy a two-course meal deal and matches the level of funding provided by the DfE. This is sufficient to buy a two-course meal deal which includes a main meal and a home bake. If preferred a student may choose to use this allowance to buy separate items at break and lunchtimes.

Free water is available around the school site and students are encouraged to bring their own refillable cups/bottles.

Families may also add to their child’s school meal account if they choose to do so. In these cases, the Free School Meal allowance will always be used before any other topped up amount. Please refer to the Payment Systems page for guidance on how to use the school’s cashless payments system.
